Meet August Spree
Owner
Mompreneur, Cancer Survivor, Coffee-Obsessed Experience Expert
As a Chicago transplant to metro Detroit (and then back to Chicago!), I have over 18 years of event planning and production experience. I spent many years focused on events in the health & fitness industry and planning fundraisers for non profits.
After being diagnosed with cancer in 2003, I decided to focus on making a difference in my community by supporting businesses that I can believe in. I especially love working with local vendors and businesses owned by historically excluded people groups (black and brown, LGBTQ, woman-owned, etc).
My passion for producing engaging and unique events allowed me to build this database of vendors and businesses that I love working with. They have as much passion as I do for creating memorable experiences for our guests. I am so happy to be able to share that precious database of verified vendors with you.
I spent over a decade in Chicago, traveled all over the world coordinating programs and events internationally, lived in Detroit for 7 years, and then moved back to Chicago. This experience has helped me develop many connections in many areas.
Even with all those connections, I am still choosy with who I add to the database. They must pass our 4-point standards to be recommended among our vendors.

Bringing this dream to reality has been incredibly fulfilling for me. As a mother of three, I know that the secret to strength lies in the ability to surround ourselves with a great community. We lift each other up - so we can all be successful TOGETHER.

Planning a corporate or NPO event?
If you’re planning a fundraiser, conference, or other corporate event, don’t worry - that’s our sweet spot! We can help with everything from venues and vendors to designing sponsorship levels and recruiting volunteers. A consultation will give you a customized recommendation of options not included in our database. Add hotel or other reservations to get added perks for you and your guests.
